Option 1: Hatshepsut Temple

Tour Overview: This half-day tour will take you on a journey through some of the most iconic sites of Luxor’s West Bank. You’ll explore the monumental statues of the Colossi of Memnon, wander through the ancient tombs of the Valley of the Kings, and admire the majestic architecture of Hatshepsut’s Mortuary Temple. With an expert guide, you will learn about the rich history and fascinating stories of these ancient sites.

Itinerary:

You will be picked up from your hotel or cruise ship in Luxor and driven across the Nile to the West Bank. Enjoy scenic views of the river and lush green fields along the way.

Begin your journey by visiting the towering Colossi of Memnon, two massive statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III. Your guide will explain the significance of these statues, which once guarded the entrance to a vast mortuary temple.

Next, head to the Valley of the Kings, the final resting place of Egypt’s pharaohs from the New Kingdom. You will have the chance to enter and explore three of the tombs, marveling at the intricate carvings and vivid wall paintings that depict scenes from the afterlife. Your guide will recommend the most impressive tombs to visit (e.g., Tombs of Ramses III, Ramses IX, or Merenptah).

Optional: Entry to King Tutankhamun's tomb can be arranged at an additional cost.

End your tour with a visit to the stunning Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut, a masterpiece of ancient architecture. Built into the cliffs at Deir el-Bahari, this temple was dedicated to Queen Hatshepsut, one of Egypt’s few female pharaohs. Your guide will share stories of her reign and the temple’s unique design.

After an unforgettable morning, you will be driven back to your hotel or cruise ship.

Option 3: Valley of the Queens

Tour Overview: This option replaces the visit to Hatshepsut’s Temple with a tour of the Valley of the Queens, where the wives and children of pharaohs were laid to rest. It offers a chance to see beautifully decorated tombs, including the famous Tomb of Queen Nefertari (entry requires an additional ticket).

Itinerary:

Pickup from your hotel or cruise ship and transfer to the West Bank.

Visit the ancient statues and hear stories about their history from your guide.

Explore three of the tombs in the Valley of the Kings. Your guide will provide fascinating insights into the tombs’ artistry and history.

Visit the Valley of the Queens, where you will have the opportunity to enter the tombs of royal wives and children. If interested, you can purchase a ticket to see the exquisite Tomb of Queen Nefertari, known for its stunning murals.

Return to your accommodation, completing your half-day exploration of Luxor’s ancient heritage.

Option 2: Medinet Habu Temple

Tour Overview: This variation of the half-day tour covers the same iconic sites with a visit to the Temple of Medinet Habu instead of Hatshepsut’s Temple. Medinet Habu is one of the best-preserved temples on the West Bank and offers stunning reliefs depicting Ramses III’s battles.
